And not Peter Andrés one.

Re: Anyone been to Iceland
Yeah, loved it there...

3 days is definitely about right...

Go to the glaciers in the huge-wheeled truck things... Awesome that...

Got to see the geysers as well... Do The Golden Circle tour... Jump in the Blue Lagoon...

Didn't bother trying to see The Northern Lights as the predictor/forecaster was only giving odds/chances of 5 or 6 out of 10 whilst I was there...

Fantastic short trip adventure... Fucking expensive though but well worth it... A beautiful volcanic land and scenery...

I've heard it's expensive, cold I expect but it looks far from boring

Dicksie,

It's far from boring.

Superb place.

As previously said blue lagoon,
Golden circle tour are both a must. Northern lights is a great trip if the weather doesn't ruin it. A glacier hike is great too. A whale watching trip is good too but expect a rough sea. Bars and pubs good, Reykjavik can be quite lively but bars don't get busy until after 11pm. Food is superb, reindeer, lobster and mink whale are all worth a try.

Great place, really nice people, tough, self reliant, good natured. It is expensive not least because of the many activities/trips that are worth doing. But its not Norway type expensive more £5 a pint than £8.

Pretty much what everyone has said. I'd add the split between the tectonic plates where iceland is literally coming apart, and to make sure you see the Gulfoss waterfall which is spectacular. Unlikely that you'd see the Northern Lights this time of year.

Virtually everyone speaks English so no language problems.

Think people have covered the highlights and it is a fascinating place. Like visiting the MOON
I always like a bit of local cuisine but tread carefully with the whale and puffin. An acquired taste. Say hi to Bjork.

Re: Anyone been to Iceland
I heard about this penguin that went to Iceland

So this penguin right was driving down the road on a hot summers day and his car started playing up. The car was on its last legs and he just about managed to pull into this garage on the road. The mechanic took a quick look at it and told the penguin to leave it with him for a few hours so he could figure out what was going on.
So the penguin heads in to town and it is really bloody getting hot, he"s suffering quite badly, being a penguin and all that, and to his delight he stumbles across an Iceland. He rushes in and finds the first freezer and jumps in to cool down. As he lays there composing himself he notices its a freezer full of ice cream. Of course he is in heaven and partakes in a few ice creams. A few hours goes by and he thinks to himself that he should go and check on his mota. He waddles over to the garage and when he gets there the mechanic says "looks like you blew a seal mate". "Oh no" says the penguin "it's just ice cream"
